「間」に住まうこと
四方に田園が広がり南西方向に山々を望む。自然の恩恵をダイレクトに享受できるこの場所に立って、全身で呼吸出来るような、野原に大の字で寝ころぶような住まいを目指したいと思いました。
敷地内それぞれの場所で自然との関係を読みとり、その場所に相応しい諸室を自然との繋がりを持たせる開口、テラスを設けて配置しました。そして、これら諸室を緩やかに繋げていくこと、すなわち個々の室からは、また別の室が窓、テラス、庭、屋根架構等を通して感じられるように構成しています。
このように自然との「間」、空間と空間との「間」に住まうことがこの場所に相応しいと考えました。これら2つの「間」と共に、記憶との「間」という要素も加えている。
敷地は住み手の生家があった場所でもあり、老朽化し解体することとなった母屋の材料（瓦、柱、梁、建具、基礎御影石）を一部保存し、また思い出のある木々を残し各空間に再利用しています。
自然、空間、記憶の「間」に住まう住宅となっています。

Living in the “space”
Rural fields stretch out on all sides, with mountains to the southwest. Standing in this place where you can directly enjoy the blessings of nature, I wanted to create a home that feels like lying down in a field, breathing with your whole body.
I read the relationship with nature in each location on the site, and arranged the rooms that are appropriate for that location with openings and terraces that connect them to nature. I also designed these rooms to be gently connected, that is, each room is designed so that you can feel the other rooms through windows, terraces, gardens, roof, etc.
I thought that living in the “space” with nature and between spaces was appropriate for this location. Along with these two “spaces,” I also added the element of “space” with memories.
The site was also where the resident’s childhood home was located, and some of the materials from the main house (tiles, pillars, beams, fittings, foundation granite) that were to be demolished due to deterioration were preserved, and the trees that hold memories were left and reused in each space.
It is a home that lives “between” nature, space, and memory.
