ツーバイフォー住宅のリノベーション

SOHO住宅のリノベーションです。クライアントはアニメの効果音の制作を在宅で行っていて、仕事場が音響的に不十分である事がリノベーションのきっかけでした。外壁と屋根以外ほぼ全体をフルリノベーションしています。構造は木造2×4で、構造設計者と検討したうえで大幅に間取りを変えています。夫婦+娘3人の住まいですが、延床面積が30坪あまりであるため、廊下をできるだけ室内化して各部屋を広くし、また音響室とする仕事部屋を近隣への音漏れがない位置に移動して、吸音壁を施し、天井を高くして、機能的にもスペース的にも改善しています。外部の門扉やアプローチ空間も改修しましたが、室内も含めて場所毎それぞれ特徴のある素材を選定しました。門扉廻りはスチールのリン酸処理仕上げと特殊セメントの左官(モールテックス)、浴室、ユーティリティはモールテックスとタイル、フローリングはヴィンテージ加工されたオークなど、ショールームや施工事例を確認しながらクライアントと一緒に素材を決めていきました。仕事部屋は他と雰囲気を変えて、チーク化粧合板の天井、黒のファブリックで仕上げた吸音壁、間接照明、機械装置をコンパクトに入れ込むために製作したデスクなど、気持ちの切り替えを意識した素材選定と、狭いながら使いやすさに配慮したオーダー家具を設置しています。子供部屋はフローリングと色合いを合わせた長いテーブルを造り付けとして、姉妹3人仲良く使える勉強スペースとしています。都心のコンパクトなSOHO住宅ですが、このように素材や造作の違いが、それぞれの空間を特徴付け、結果的に様々な居場所をつくることが出来ました。仕事とプライベートの切り替えがしやすく、そして家族全員が楽しく暮らせる住まいとなっています。

Renovation of a 2×4 house

This is a renovation of a SOHO house. The client produces sound effects for anime from home office, and the reason for the renovation was that the acoustics of the workspace were inadequate. Almost the entire house has been fully renovated except for the exterior walls and roof. The structure is a wooden 2×4, and the layout has been significantly changed after discussions with the structural designer. The house is for a couple and three daughters, but the total floor area is just over 100m2, so the hallway has been made indoors as much as possible to make each room larger, and the work room used as an acoustic room has been moved to a location where sound does not leak to the neighborhood, sound-absorbing walls have been installed, and the ceiling has been raised, improving both functionality and space. The exterior gate and approach space have also been renovated, and materials with unique characteristics have been selected for each location, including the interior. The gate area is made of steel with a phosphoric acid finish and special cement plastering (Moltex), the bathroom and utility areas are made of Moltex and tiles, and the flooring is made of vintage-processed oak. I decided on the materials together with the client while checking showrooms and construction examples. The work room has a different atmosphere from the rest of the house, with materials selected to encourage a change of mood, such as a teak veneer plywood ceiling, sound-absorbing walls finished in black fabric, indirect lighting, and a desk made to house machinery and equipment in a compact space. Custom-made furniture, small but easy to use, is also installed. The children’s room has a long built-in table that matches the color of the flooring, and serves as a study space that the three sisters can use together. Although this is a compact SOHO home in the city center, the differences in materials and construction characterize each space, ultimately creating a variety of places to be. It is easy to switch between work and private life, and the home is one where the whole family can enjoy life.
