ヌレエン
場所は、東京の自由が丘駅から徒歩５分程のバス道路に面した建物の１階で、５区画あるテナントのうち南側角地の１店舗の計画です。用途はスキューバダイビングショップで、グッズの販売とダイビングツアーの運営を行っています。周りに開かれたショップにしたいとの要望から、２面道路の開口部を木製３枚引込窓とし、窓下は室内側にも屋外側にもベンチを設けています。室内側のベンチは、２面の窓をつなぐようにＬ字に設け、ツアーの後に大人数が座れるようにしています。屋外側のベンチは、地域の人が自由に使えるように開放されています。３枚引込窓を片側に寄せると、内外のベンチがつながって店内がより開放的となり、人々を迎え入れるような空間になります。オープンしてすぐに、近くのバス停の待合場としてこのベンチを利用する人もいるそうです。民家の濡れ縁のしつらえを内外背中合わせにつなげたような空間構成と、木の柔らかい質感によって、地域のコミュニティづくりに貢献できればと思っています。

Nure-en Veranda
The location is on the first floor of a building facing the bus road, about a five-minute walk from Jiyugaoka Station in Tokyo, and is one of the five tenant lots on the south side of the lot. It is a scuba diving shop that sells goods and runs diving tours. In response to a request to have a shop that is open to the surrounding area, the openings on two sides of the road are made of wooden sliding windows, and benches are installed both inside and outside the window. The indoor bench is installed in an L-shape to connect the two windows, so that a large number of people can sit after the tour. The outdoor bench is open for local people to use freely. If the three sliding windows are moved to one side, the benches inside and outside are connected, making the inside of the store more open and welcoming. It seems that some people is using this bench as a waiting area for the nearby bus stop since the opening. I hope that the spatial composition, which resembles the veranda of a private home connected back to back inside and outside, and the soft texture of the wood will contribute to building a local community.
